Aztec Hot Chocolate Mix

Aztec Hot Chocolate | Food Your Body Will Thank You For

I love hot chocolate! Unfortunately, store-bought mixes are often laden with refined sugar, natural flavorings, and hefty price tags.

This mix is simple to make and economical. It’s mildly sweet with a peppery little kick. You’ll be happy to have it on hand for an easy-to-make treat that will heat you up, body and soul!  It’s the perfect accompaniment to a fire and a good book.

Enjoy! <3

Aztec Hot Chocolate Mix

(makes about 1-1/3 cups) use 2 tsp. per 8 oz. of liquid

You’ll Need:

Directions

  1. Heat up your choice of milk until just before it begins to bubble.
  2. Whisk in 2 teaspoons of the mix for every 8 ounces of liquid.
  3. Pour into mugs.
  4. Adjust taste as needed ( 1 teaspoon of extra rapadura makes a nice sweet treat, but maple syrup or honey would also work well)
  5. Top with whipped cream and enjoy!

*I’ve used coconut milk and raw milk and both are delicious!

And for the end of a hard week…my husband likes his drink with 1 shot of good whiskey, one teaspoon of sugar, and whipped cream. It makes a nice Friday evening wind-down treat.
