Green-ish Smoothie (Dairy-free)

Green-ish Smoothie (dairy-free) | Food Your Body Will Thank You For

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

I love the ideas of green smoothies, but after hearing about oxalates in raw greens I was wary. Arthritis runs in my family and I did not want to contribute to any pre-existing conditions I may have had. So I decided to reduce the oxalates by steaming the spinach. The other benefit in this recipe is that the vitamin C helps with iron absorption!

Enjoy! <3

Green-ish Smoothie

You’ll Need:

  • 1 medium banana
  • 4 organic strawberries
  • 2 cups packed spinach, steamed
  • 1/2 c. whole fat coconut milk (I like THIS brand, because it’s in BPA-free cans!)
  • 2-1/2 T. maple syrup
  • 2-1/2 t. fresh lemon juice

Directions: Mix all ingredients into a blender or use an immersion blender.
